Neptune is the eighth planet from the Sun in the Solar System. Neptune
orbits the Sun at a distance of 30.1 AU, or 4.5 milliard km. The Neptunian
year is about 165 Earth'years. Neptune can not be seen without any optical
instrument, because it is far from Earth, including its largest diameter of
about 4 times the Earth. Neptune has 17 times the mass of Earth.
With different speeds and positions in orbit around the Sun, the Earth
and Neptune get closer and farther from each other. In 13'th of February
2009, the Earth and Neptune will be the furthest distance in this cycle.
Neptune is discovered by an german astronomer, named Galle in 1846,
following calculations of french astronomer, Le Verrier.
Neptune was appointed by the Roman god of the sea with a telescope looks
like a blue stain in a calm sea.
Neptune has almost 13 satellites. Triton is the largest in diameter.
